Undoing/Doing

A series of paintings born of a response to the climate emergency. It is an enquiry into waste reduction and reuse of studio detritus. The Undoing/Doing series explored the repurposing of materials and ‘failed’ paintings, which were cut, sewn and reassembled into new works. It brings into question the perception of what is deemed to be “finished output” from an artist’s studio and broadens the possibilities of what work is possible whilst simultaneously operating a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious practice.
